Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO)
Leveraging on years of experience in owning and operating Malaysia’s first-ever converted Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO), the Group has entrenched itself as one of the leading players in the FPSO services industry. We are able to call upon experienced in-house talents, adding to our ability to take on full-scale EPCIC projects and their long-term operations and maintenance. To keep on being relevant to the oil and gas industry, the Group also evolves and continuously adapts to new technologies to enhance our FPSO solutions while keeping our CAPEX to a minimum. We have deep networking within the shipping industry and have access to multiple candidate tankers for conversion into FPSOs, allowing us to develop FPSO solutions promptly. We are known for our dependable, safe and efficient FPSO solutions.
Floating, Storage & Offloading (FSO)
The Group has been working on Floating, Storage & Offloading (FSO) since 2004. This floating storage facility has helped the company widen our business scope to provide other types of floating facilities around the region. We have successfully delivered quality work to our clients through:
Provision of FSO facilities
Operation & Maintenance
Besides our offshore floating solutions, our depth in integrated services includes Floating Storage & Re-Gasification (FSRU) solutions.
We are able to convert or build a new FSRU, all the way from concept development, engineering, procurement, conversion / construction, and installation and commissioning, to operations and maintenance (O&M) of the facility at site. This is where we add value, drawing upon our in-house expertise to work closely with the client to develop an optimum solution to meet the specific project’s technical, cost and delivery targets.
FSRU continue to offer one of the best solutions for oil and gas companies:
Cost-effective way to meet low demand or to “grow into” LNG, compared to a land-based terminal
Faster delivery compared to land-based facilities where a short-to-medium term opportunity exists
Reduced challenges with host government and local communities’ permissions as it utilizes the cleanest fossil fuel and is sited offshore or near shore
Less risk of delays related to land acquisitions or right-of-way issues
Rapid access to high value gas markets. For LNG suppliers, FSRUs provide a low cost option for accessing emerging markets
Reduced financing requirements as the storage tanks are already built in
Flexibility for redeployment at other locations
Mobile Offshore Production Unit (MOPU)
We have the capabilities to convert and new-built Mobile Offshore Production Unit (MOPU) from concept development, engineering, procurement, conversion/construction, installation and commissioning, to operations and maintenance (O&M) of the facility. Our in-house experts work closely with the client to fine tune optimum solutions in meeting the project’s technical, cost and delivery targets. Additionally, we have readily available jack-up rigs for conversion to MOPU.

The FPSO Perintis is a proven FPSO with Process Topsides systems including Separation, Gas Export and Gas Lift, Water Injection, Produced Water, gas fired Power Generation and relevant support utilities.
Perintis was contracted to PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd for their MASA field for fourteen years, five years more than its original design life, only leaving the field when field production dropped to a low level. During its time at field the FPSO performed better than required having minimal downtime. On the completion of the contract in October 2013, FPSO Perintis has been demobilised from site and is now available for its next project.
FPSO Perintis is suitable for most marginal fields, based on its existing on-board systems, configuration and equipment size. The FPSO can process 35,000 bpd of oil, 100 MMscfd of gas and 30,000 bpd of produced water and inject 25,000 of seawater.
As the FPSO Perintis is already converted and the Process Topsides installed, it is available at a very competitive charter rate and a fast delivery schedule. The FPSO Perintis only needs life extension work and process customisation to meet client requirements prior to being deployed to field.
The Group welcomes all potential clients to view and inspect FPSO Perintis immediately

Storage of stabilized crude and maintaining it at the required temperature
Treatment of effluent for discharge to the sea
Offloading of crude into ‘tandem moored’ shuttle tankers
Power generation for process, offloading, utilities and ship systems
Provide accommodation for operations and maintenance personnel
Our record with this FSO demonstrates our versatility as services provider. The FSO is owned by Carigali Hess Operating Company and has been operational since 2004 in Block A-18 of the Malaysia-Thailand Joint Development Area. O&M was provided by our subsidiary, from 2004 to 2012. The O&M team excelled at their tasks so much that the initial contracted term of three years (two years firm and one year optional) was renewed for another three-year term, with an option for a two-year extension that was exercised.
Labuan Barite Plant
In 2009, the company commissioned its second integrated barite mill, this time in Labuan, East Malaysia. This Labuan plant has four mill units and its output has exclusively serviced the annual needs of PETRONAS Carigali and KPOC for their East Malaysia drilling programmes. It has the ability to produce and supply more than 60,000 to 90,000 tonnes per annum.
Terengganu Barite Plant
Trenggo Minerals commissioned its first barite mill in 1982 in Kuala Berang, Terengganu. Among our many challenges was meeting the urgent needs of Murphy Oil in 2006 for their Kikeh Top Hole Deepwater Batch Drilling Program. This was followed a year later for another massive barite supply requirement to Sarawak/Sabah Shell for their Gumusut-Kakap Top Hole Deepwater Batch Drilling Program. In both cases, our capacity to produce a large volume of barite, 30,000 metric tonnes, allowed our clients to proceed with drilling up to 15 wells in less than 60 days. It was proof of our capabilities in mobilising both internal talents and resources, as well as supervising and monitoring our production output, to meet the urgent needs of our clients.
